Ugo and Linda Fanizza are the holders of an Australian Financial Services Licence and trade through their Victorian based business - Select Thoroughbreds. This licence is issued by the Australian Securities and Investments Commission and authorises them to act as promoters of managed investment schemes limited to horse racing schemes.
The offering of shares to the public in horse racing schemes is subject to regulation by the Corporations Act and requires that the promoter (person offering the shares) must hold an Australian Financial Services Licence or be an authorised representative of a Licensee. Ugo and Linda Fanizza have also been approved as promoters by Racing Victoria Limited, the State's Industry Lead Regulator -a prerequisite in the licence application.
History
Select Thoroughbreds commenced its operations in 2004 however Ugo and Linda Fanizza became involved in the industry in the late 70's. In the early 80's, after applying the appropriate due diligence, they became owners and purchased their first share in a horse - State Draw - a multiple city winner.
